Our meeting at the library last Tuesday was very interesting. Many of you may have thought that our development was now "built out" and that we could expect to see our monthly fee go down. Not so. There will be approximately 800 more homes built, by up to four builders, on the land to the south of us. Additionally, a commercial area is planned on the flat area that faces Plum Canyon and is sided by Heller Circle and La Madrid. At this point, which could be up to two years from now, we will be "built out".
As far as safety in our community goes, the HOA has nothing to do with it. It is highly unprobable that we will ever be gated, primarily because of our public streets. The land would have to be deeded back from the city to the community and this is not likely to happen. That makes it all the more imperative that we form a strong Neighborhood Watch in our area.
The first meeting will be on Wednesday, May 16, at 7 pm. Call me if you need more information. The meeting is not intended for young children; it is too difficult to host a meeting where we can all voice our opinions openly to the Sheriff''s Department representatives that will be running the meeting to set up our Neighborhood Watch and update us on the criminal activity in recent weeks.
